The Cottages are located in the Downalong area which is conveniently situated between Porthmeor beach (the largest beach popular with surfers), Porthgwidden Beach (a smaller quiet beach ideal for those seeking peace and quiet) and the Harbour beaches and Wharf. It is also a short walk from Porthminster beach, a family beach boasting one of St Ives most popular restaurants where you can enjoy a meal overlooking the beach.

St Ives Swell Board Shootout

The Swell Board shootout is a fancy dress charity surfing event that takes place in St Ives each year in June. It's a 3 day event and includes other events such as an open air beach cinema, Carnival and Paella Night.  Various live music performances make it one of the social highlights of the year.

St Ives Biathlon

St Ives Surf Life Saving Club, Porthmeor Beach, St Ives


The St Ives Surf Lifesaving Club Biathlon 2017 is a 2km run race.  The race is run from St Ives to Carbis Bay followed by a 1.5km open-sea swim back.  The Biathlon is an event organised to raise much needed funds for equipment and kit for its many members.
